When Huntir died in 99 First Era from a supposed heart failure his only legitimate son, [[Syllius Halon]], 21 years old, was killed at the hands of a low-ranking military officer by the name of [[Gultur Erantus]]. Without any further progression likely, Gultur saw his moment to take charge and killed the uncoronated King. Allied with his soldiers under his command, with no King left to follow, Gultur took the throne by force. It was extremely unlikely for him to succeed under the circumstances, but due to killing the King before he was coronated, some saw it as an act of [[Moruth]]. To persuade the [[Mani Army]] to follow Gultur, and not rebel against him in favor of the unofficial son of Huntir Halon, Frantir Halon, Gultur gave out massive amounts of funds as a bribe. The Kingdom Of Mani was situated primarily on [[Susland]] as the dominant power for centuries. Although higher powers such as the [[Kingdom Of Osmax]] held lands nearby, the Mani held a fierce determination to hold onto whatever land they called theirs. The lands the Mani owned were usually Boreal forests dotted with temperate forests. This climate would be very cold in the winter time, thus making the short growing season all the more vital to avoid famine and starvation. The large forests however provided an extreme surplus of Lumber, enough to be exported to distant countries. This fueled the early start of the Mani Kingdom's economy until mines could be established. The poor minerals of Susland did not help the Kingdom, often forcing the Kingdom to rely on precious metals from other Empires. This only helped proved how important it was to keep their oversea colonies, where other resources were so rich and plentiful. Enough so that the Kingdom decided to invest all of its resources into farther, more distant lands.

The Kingdom Of Mani was organized under an Authoritarian King. The Political Hierarchy of the Kingdom began with the [[List of Mani Leaders|King]], which held nearly supreme power in all decisions regarding the state. The King often would choose a successor, and if not then by default it would be the [[Mosa]]. When the King died, and had not declared a successor and or the Mosa was his successor, the [[List Of Mani Mosas|Mosas]] would become King and another Mosa was appointed. They often held high regard such as a General, or of wealthy status.

More often than not the Generals held extreme political power, and could sway votes and decisions regarding the entire Kingdom with simple movements or their army. The currency was very hard to make, being built out of silver which was often very rare because of the region, [[Susland]], having very poor minerals. This forced the Kingdom to mint a very small amount of coinage, and wouldn't be fixed until the establishment of silver mines on [[Avallone]] in the later centuries. the Menali currency bears the emblem of the capital, [[Pomarus]], and six stars. Each star is to symbolize an important Mani figure, bestowed to the Heavens.

The Kingdom Of Mani ("Ma-kneE") was formed in the year 79 First Era after the Rise Of Huntir forced a multi-war succession among a small tribal collection of tribes called the Formation Of Mani, and the Formation Of Fami. Then, years later, Huntir Halon bided for his right to be King under religious claims, and became the first King Of The Mani Kingdom Of Solma. The Mani quickly expanded over the next Era, nearly rivaling the power of the Osmax for centuries until their sudden decline in the 6th Century.

History

Formations

When Huntir I declared war on the surrounding tribes for an unknown reason, two Formations formed. One was called the Formation Of Mani, of which Huntir was apart of, and the other was the Formation Of Fami. Outnumbering the Fami by at least 3:1, the Mani attacked them. After decimating the entire Formation Of Fami, burning down every village they could, the problems had only begun. After rising high in the few ranks of the Formation, Huntir I declared himself to be king according to the words of Moruth, God Of the Solma Religion. Eventually, he became the first King of the Mani. Officially naming the kingdom the Mani Kingdom Of Solma, Huntir I began his reign.

Expansion

After Huntir began his reign, the Kingdom expanded. Huntir instituted laws including crime, security, and sanitation. He began building the Kingdoms' reserves of money up, spending it on expensive projects to help his people. This included small canals to divert water, forestry industries, and farms to grow more food. Huntirs reign was peaceful, and his people soon transformed from the uncivilized barbaric warriors they had been to strong independent Mecas. When Huntir died in 99 First Era at the age of 55, chaos enveloped the nation.

Succession War Of Gultur

When Huntir died in 99 First Era from a supposed heart failure his only legitimate son, Syllius Halon, 21 years old, was killed at the hands of a low-ranking military officer by the name of Gultur Erantus. Gultur had slowly risen through the ranks of the military until finally stopping at the rank of Tex. Without any further progression likely, Gultur saw his moment to take charge and killed the uncoronated King. Allied with his soldiers under his command, with no King left to follow, Gultur took the throne by force. It was extremely unlikely for him to succeed under the circumstances, but due to killing the King before he was coronated, some saw it as an act of Moruth. To persuade the Mani Army to follow Gultur, and not rebel against him in favor of the unofficial son of Huntir Halon, Frantir Halon, Gultur gave out massive amounts of funds as a bribe. For his second in command as Mosa, he would choose his sister's husband, Tulus Mang. This political crisis became known as the Gultur Succession.

2nd Century Kings

Gultur is regarded as a foolish King armed with a sharp sword and mouth. He conquered lands for the Kingdom during his reign but accomplished little else. His reign ended in 119 First Era after an attack on a tribal village in Central Susland injured his left leg later becoming infected. Because he was sterile, Gultur had no children leaving his Mosa to succeed him. At the time of Gultur's death, the Kingdom did not mourn for the King.

Being Mosa for Gultur's entire reign, and already in line for the throne unless told otherwise, Tulus Mang took the throne at the age of 49 before dying 11 years later at the very old age of 60. Tulus's reign was very similar to Gulturs in the fact that the Kingdom experienced little growth, except for Tulus's famous acts; the Colonial Land Association Act, and establishing the Menali currency. These acts enacted the Colonial Empire that the Kingdom Of Mani is most well known for.

Geography

The Kingdom Of Mani was situated primarily on Susland as the dominant power for centuries. Although higher powers such as the Kingdom Of Osmax held lands nearby, the Mani held a fierce determination to hold onto whatever land they called theirs. The lands the Mani owned were usually Boreal forests dotted with temperate forests. This climate would be very cold in the winter time, thus making the short growing season all the more vital to avoid famine and starvation. The large forests however provided an extreme surplus of Lumber, enough to be exported to distant countries. This fueled the early start of the Mani Kingdom's economy until mines could be established. The poor minerals of Susland did not help the Kingdom, often forcing the Kingdom to rely on precious metals from other Empires. This only helped proved how important it was to keep their oversea colonies, where other resources were so rich and plentiful. Enough so that the Kingdom decided to invest all of its resources into farther, more distant lands.

Government

The Kingdom Of Mani was organized under an Authoritarian King. The Political Hierarchy of the Kingdom began with the King, which held nearly supreme power in all decisions regarding the state. The King often would choose a successor, and if not then by default it would be the Mosa. When the King died, and had not declared a successor and or the Mosa was his successor, the Mosas would become King and another Mosa was appointed. They often held high regard such as a General, or of wealthy status.

Underneath the Mosa were the Generals of the Mani Army, ranked by rank and seniority. More often than not the Generals held extreme political power, and could sway votes and decisions regarding the entire Kingdom with simple movements or their army. Even words that could suggest a threat could motivate others to act differently. A Generals ambition would often be to become Mosa, and then King. The slight problem with the system of Mosa however was the power of the King to appoint any one person he so desired, and thus could appoint a person completely out of bias. Families would reign for years before they were pushed out of power. A very notable exception to this is to Huntir I when his Kingdom was swiftly taken away from his family.

Stability

Stability in the Kingdom was relatively stable, except for the Gultur Succession, and the great turmoil times of the Maki Era. Stability was eventually restored after Huntir II reclaimed the throne, and began a time of peace. The crazed times of Maki are known for his tyranny and horrible deeds. Huntir II would however restore stability to the Kingdom, and thus, a new time of prosperity.

Military

The Mani Army was created in 92 First Era by Huntir I to protect the nation from the tribal attacks of local areas.

Economy

An economy heavily dependent on natural resources, the Mani became very competitive in trade as they spread colonies across Liberos to gather natural resources. The Kingdom would experience the Great Famine Of The 200's in which little food production nearly split the population in half.

Demographics

The Kingdom Of Mani felt a great shift in demographic change during the 2nd Century First Era as more and more farmers would move into cities, so much to the point of famines beginning to occur. To fix this, the Kingdom instituted trade to import grain and fish from the surrounding nations of the Osmax and Langley.

Culture

Religion

The Kingdom Of Mani is dominated by the religious followers of Solma, called Solomans. The Solma Religion originated somewhere in the southern part of the kingdom on the shores to the Archipelago Of Tandite in a small village in the 2nd Century B1E. The capital of the Kingdom, Pomarus, is also the religious capital of Solma and brings thousands of pilgrims every year. The Kingdom Of Mani would spread out across Susland bringing their religion with them.

Language

Dominated by the local languages of Semther and Helten, the Kingdom Of Mani dictates an extremely large amount of people who speak the mixed language, Empala. Because of this, the Kingdom and its inhabitants easily could adapt to either rulers that spoke Helten, or rulers that spoke Semther. The Kingdom also held a small population of Jokilo speakers, but these people were shunned and segregated. Many local dialects of Emapala originated from the Mani Kingdom, giving away to almost entirely different languages in the Second Era.

Race

The racial makeup of the Kingdom Of Mani was relatively dominant until around the 4th Century. The Kingdom was primarily comprised of Heltas with very few Races from anywhere else. The only other being the Elbamas until the 4th Century in the Mani Colony Of Hal. Here, the natural population was the Rituns, a race with tanned skin. This race can closely be related to Hispanic or Arab. After the colony established a dominant agricultural industry, many of these Rituns were either hired or enslaved. Under the strict Halon Enslavement Laws, many Rituns escaped Slavery. It would take centuries however until the race had any type of power in the country.

The Menali Currency was first adopted under Tulus I in 129 First Era. The Menali was a very unstable currency, often being too few in mintage rates. The currency was very hard to make, being built out of silver which was often very rare because of the region, Susland, having very poor minerals. This forced the Kingdom to mint a very small amount of coinage, and wouldn't be fixed until the establishment of silver mines on Avallone in the later centuries. the Menali currency bears the emblem of the capital, Pomarus, and six stars. Each star is to symbolize an important Mani figure, bestowed to the Heavens.
