History
Geography
Built on a small river with extremely plentiful Salmon, Pomarus was settled around the year 900 B1E. Being one of the first tribes to stop their nomadic roots, Pomarussians laid the foundation of the future Kingdom Of Mani. With large forests nearby and plenty of food--a rarity for Susland, Pomarus became a regionally destination. Protected from the winds off the water but not too far north to get the worse of the winter, the city gave one of the best climates for those in northern Bytos. Although heavy winters have heavily affected the city, the worse of the snowfall falls more north and is sheltered by the hills surrounding the city.
Economy
Most of Pomarus was skilled farmers that knew every type of craft. Not until much later in the 2nd Century did Pomarus begin noticing distinctly different groups. Pomarus is well known for its large carpentry craft which produced some of the finest furniture in Bytos. In addition to this, the textile industry was also very large primarily among those who did not live on their own land.
Culture
The city first began speaking Semther, but as time progressed immigrants from the Kingdom Of Osmax to the south would migrate and began to fill the city with Helten. Overtime, Pomarus became a battleground for different languages which would merge the city into distinct sectors. Being the Kingdom Of Mani's capital, the Semther sector was the most looked after and developed. While the Helten sector was in much higher poverty and received less city care.
Government
Population
As one of the largest cities on Liberos at the time of its establishment, Pomarus would become the biggest city in Susland. With a culture more based around farming and hunting off the land, Pomarus was easily feed in comparison to many other cities in Susland. As a large Semther stronghold, the city would transform into a battleground of mixing cultures with the expanding Kingdom Of Osmax. Facing the great purges done by the Osmax, Pomarus would become incredibly large and the primary foothold against the great southern kingdom.
